Notts County boss Martin Allen has signed his son Charlie from Dagenham & Redbridge. The 19-year-old midfielder was wanted by several clubs, but the Magpies manager is confident that Allen junior is capable of making an impact at Meadow Lane.
"Charlie has been playing at Dagenham & Redbridge last year and he is a player that I've watched for several years in his development," said Allen. "He comes from good bloodstock in his family and he is hopefully one for the future for this club and one of a number of good young players that we have got here.
"There were several clubs in the London area interested in taking Charlie for the season ahead and Charlie has decided to come to Notts County, which I am delighted about.
"It is a good signing for our club and, as I say, hopefully he will be a good one for the future."
