Notts County boss Martin Allen claims that two players have verbally agreed to sign for the club. After saving the Magpies from relegation, Allen is eager to begin building a squad capable of challenging for promotion from npower League One next season.
"I've got two verbal agreements already in place but I can't announce them at the moment, and there are several others pending," Allen said. "I have made offers and I am waiting for people to come back to me.
"One of our targets is away on holiday so I'm waiting for him to come home and another one is going away soon. I didn't want them to go on holiday. I tried to persuade them not to go away and to come here and have a medical and sign. I don't want to wait but I suppose they deserve a holiday.
"They have got other clubs looking at them because they are good players. I'm getting stuck into it but I'm not happy because I'm not very patient. For each position we are trying to fill we have got three or four players and hopefully the signings we make will show our intent."
