Nottingham Forest are keen to make the loan deal of Aston Villa's Nicky Shorey a permanent one.
The 28-year old left-back joined Forest on a one-month loan in late November and now the Championship club are keen to snap him up permanently for around £3million.
Shorey signed with Villa from Reading in August 2008 but struggled for regular game time at Villa Park and moved onto Nottingham when Martin O'Neill made it clear that summer signing Stephen Warnock was his first choice on the left side of defence.
