Nottingham Forest have made an improved bid for Aston Villa's Ross McCormack.
Sky Sports reports that Forest are hoping to negotiate an increased loan fee for the striker who currently earns significant wages at Villa.
It is understood that the two clubs have not been able to agree who would stump up the majority of McCormack's salary for the rest of the season.
The 30-year-old has been under fire from Villa boss Steve Bruce in recent times and is expected to leave Villa Park before tonight's deadline.
However, Forest will be hoping their discussion from now are more positive as they strive to land the former Fulham and Leeds United ace.
