Tottenham' removal of Gareth Bale's picture from their Twitter page has been played down.

The Daily Mail says Clint Dempsey's move from Tottenham to the Seattle Sounders in the MLS came at an unfortunate time for the club as they had to remove his picture from their Twitter profile, which also contained Bale.

The Welsh star has been heavily linked with a world record move to Real Madrid, and Spurs' new Twitter page, which has pictures of Mousa Dembele and Aaron Lennon in place of Bale and Dempsey, will do little to stop speculation.
