Saint Etienne are yet to rubberstamp the sale of Max Gradel to Bournemouth.
While Bournemouth announced the transfer yesterday, Le Progres reports this morning that Les Verts insist the deal is not complete.
Saint Etienne are insisting Gradel pay €1 million as severance for leaving the club before his contract expires.
Bournemouth have agreed to meet part of the payment due, but Gradel refuses to dip into his own pocket.
For now, Saint Etienne are holding onto necessary contracts, meaning Gradel cannot be registered with the Cherries.
It could mean the Ivorian being forced to sit out the Premier League kickoff this weekend.
