Real Madrid fans want Gareth Bale to stay next season.

While polls in the popular Spanish sports newspapers, which are open to anyone with access to the internet, show 'fans' want Bale sold, the Forza Football survey found that the majority of Real Madrid fans (61%) want the Welshman to remain at the Bernabeu next season.

Forza Football surveyed 2,000 Real Madrid fans about the future of the Welshman and the majority want him to stay.

Rumours of a return to the Premier League have, perhaps unsurprisingly, been intensifying, with Manchester United reportedly interested and financially capable of bringing the Wales international to Old Trafford, but this survey has shown that not only would it be an unpopular move for most Real Madrid fans, but also that the Madrid media's reporting on the issue wasn't particularly accurate. Patrik Arnesson, CEO of Football Addicts, comments: "Gareth Bale is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world, and he's a widely respected footballer and person. The booing that we have heard this season has been both surprising and unpleasant, but we're glad that this poll shows that fans are indeed appreciative of his talent.

"The similar surveys that we've seen in recent months have all been open to whoever has an internet connection, meaning fans of rival clubs are given the perfect opportunity to 'troll' Real Madrid and skew the result, whereas ours was available only to fans following Los Merengues."
