Nosworthy: Sunderland must stop conceding cheap goals

Nyron Nosworthy says Sunderland are giving away too many cheap goals away from home.

Nosworthy admits he's baffled by the Black Cats' inability to produce results away from home and says the players must draw strength and confidence from their shows earlier in the season.

"I can't really put it into words - we're just not performing, simple as that," he told safc.com. "Maybe we feel more confident in our surroundings, but we know we can do it [win away].

"We've beaten one of the tougher teams in Bolton away and gone to Man U and put on a good performance and got a decent result. We should have won the game there.

"So it's not as if we can't do it, we just seem to have lost our way a little. We need to dig deep and work hard on changing things around with a win.

"We need the breaks and to start putting away those little half-chances we're getting. We can't just rely on Benty and Kenwyne to score us goals.

"If we don't concede it makes it easier to go up the other end and nick something. Giving away cheap goals like we did on Sunday doesn't help."
