Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy is backing January signing Jean-Yves M'voto to make a Premiership impact this season.

M'voto arrived from PSG last season and Nosworthy told The Journal: "He has trained with us a few times and I call him The Animal.

"He is a strong defender and very talented. He needs to train with us a lot more but he is solid and I think he will do more. He has all the attributes to be a solid, top centre-half. He just needs to add that belief and experience to develop into the player we know he can be.

"He has the ability and has to adapt to the English game. From there the world is his oyster really."
