Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy says the club's youngsters are capable of pressing for first team action next season.
"It's great for the club to have so many young players coming through," said Nosworthy, who remains one of the most popular players at the Stadium of Light despite his London roots.
"The manager has brought a few of them up to train with us and they have travelled to games with us as well. I think that's important because it shows them what they can achieve if they work hard and do the right things.
"From what I've seen, there are a few of them who definitely have a chance of making it in the Premier League. For a club like Sunderland it's important there is local talent in the side and this group have got a wonderful chance of making it in the first team."
