Norwich's Whittaker backs Sunderland striker Fletcher to find Scotland form

Steven Whittaker expects Steven Fletcher to soon run into a purple patch with Scotland.

?The Sunderland striker has not scored for his country since 2009 but Norwich City's Whittaker has faith in his national team colleague.

?"Steven works so hard when he's up there on his own, and we struggled to get a lot of players around about him against Northern Ireland," he said in reference to Wednesday night's 1-0 win at Hamden Park.

"But we still managed to create a few chances, especially in the first half, but we just couldn't quite take them.

"If he keeps working hard, we know he's got the qualities to score.

"And, if we can get players around about him, one will drop to him soon enough."

?Scotland take on Gibraltar in Euro2016 qualifying in Glasgow on Sunday.
