Stoke City boss Mark Hughes insists that midfielder Glenn Whelan will not be departing the club this month.
The 30-year old Republic of Ireland international is a reported target for Norwich City but Hughes suggests there is nothing in the speculation linking Whelan with a Britannia Stadium exit.
"I've had no contact with Norwich. It's not our intention to let Glenn go. We don't anticipate anybody leaving," said Hughes.
