Norwich suspend rebel striker Grabban

Norwich City have suspended Lewis Grabban for a week.

The Mirror says Norwich boss Alex Neil has banned the striker for a week following his shock walkout before the midweek Capital One Cup game at Rotherham.

Grabban, 27, stormed out of the team hotel on Tuesday after Norwich - who went on to beat their Championship hosts, 2-1 - rejected a near-£6million bid for him from Bournemouth.

Neil said: "The bottom line is that he has been suspended for leaving the team hotel without permission.

"Lewis has been a silly boy and he has accepted the suspension - but then he doesn't really have any other option. He decided to do what he did and he has suffered the consequences. The club has rules and if you break them you pay the price.

"I have also told Lewis we have absolutely no intention of selling him to Bournemouth."
