Norwich striker Van Wolfswinkel delighted with debut goal

Norwich City striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel was delighted with his goal on debut in their 2-2 draw with Everton.

Van Wolfswinkel took his goal with aplomb, finding space between defenders to convert Steven Whittaker's miscued shot from the right flank.

He said: "These are the moments you are waiting for and as a striker you should always be in that spot.

"I actually don't feel any pressure because of the big transfer fee. In a way it provides more motivation for me and it gives me a great feeling that they were so determined to bring me to Norwich.

"I found it very hard at first, so that's something that I will have to get used to. It's a big difference to the other competitions that I have played in in my career.

"It's more physical as well and the tempo is much higher. But, it's only the first game and now I've got that first 90 minutes in my pocket and now I just want to go on from there.

"My team mates have to get used to me as well but they know what I want. These are the details that we have to work out. At half time you might say to a midfielder when you want him to pass or not.

"I know that you want to hear I'm going to score 15 or 20 goals or something, but I don't want to set a target and not live up to it. I just want to do was well as I can for the team. If I'm not scoring, I just want to be important to the team in another way as well."
