Norwich City striker Grant Holt insists they showed at Chelsea they're good enough to stay up.
The Canaries ran Chelsea close on Saturday.
"It's fantastic to get off the mark in the Premier League but to leave empty-handed is a kick in the teeth," said Holt, whose lofted effort means he has now scored in all four divisions.
"The manager expects me to play a certain way, to work hard, and I'm sure John (Terry) knows he was in a battle. If Chris Martin and myself continue to play like that, we'll score goals at this level.
"As a team we feel we belong here, and we're trying to do it by winning games without going too gung-ho. We've got points on the board, we're playing well and we gave Chelsea a run for their money.
"Compliments about your performance don't mean as much when you leave empty-handed - we had chances to take the lead at 1-1 and to equalise at 2-1 down, but we didn't take them and it's a harsh lesson."
