Norwich striker backs former club Millwall to be contenders

Norwich City striker Steve Morison is confident his former club Millwall will repeat the success they enjoyed last season. Morison scored 17 times as the Lions narrowly missed out on the play-offs in their first season back in the second-tier last term.

The Wales international has since earned a switch to newly-promoted Premier League outfit Norwich.

"They have the chance to strengthen the side this summer and regroup before going again next season," he told skysports.com.

"The foundations are in place already, with a great fanbase, a top manager and some quality players, so I don't see any reason why they can't do as well, if not better, than last season.

"Obviously, I hope they can do well next season because I enjoyed my time there and the supporters were great with me, even when I struggled to find my feet immediately after joining from Stevenage."

The 27-year-old now hopes to win over the Canaries faithful by helping to keep the club in the top-flight next season.

"I just want to get into the team first and then play as many games and score as many goals as I can and ultimately help Norwich stay in the Premier League.

"If I do that and show what I am capable of then I'm sure that I can get the fans on my side fairly quickly."
