Norwich City have completed the signing of midfielder Jacob Butterfield from Championship outfit Barnsley.
The 22-year-old, whose Oakwell contract was up at the end of June, has agreed a four-year contract with Chris Hughton's City, but Barnsley are entitled to compensation for their former captain.
Boss Keith Hill told BBC Radio: "It seems ridiculous that they are going to try and get him for as little as they possibly can.
"The initial offer is an absolute joke. It's scandalous, disrespectful to Barnsley as well as the management teams and his team-mates."
