Norwich City boss Chris Hughton felt aggrieved after his side were held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.
The Canaries hit the front through Bradley Johnson in the 39th minute and should have been further advanced, in terms of numbers advantage on the pitch, when Palace striker Marouane Chamakh only saw yellow for grabbing the throat of Wes Hoolahan and pushing him to the ground.
Referee Mike Dean decided only to caution the Moroccan before Palace levelled from the spot courtesy of Jason Puncheon prior to Leroy Fer, who conceded the spot-kick, being sent off late.
"I have no complaints with the penalty," Hughton said.
"I don't have any complaints with the ones that went against us but certainly Chamakh should have been off the pitch.
"The referee had a very good view of it and, to the letter of the law as I know it, if someone raises a hand it's a sending off.
"Credit to Wes Hoolahan - he didn't try to get the lad sent off. He got straight back up and he didn't try to make a meal of it but it was sending off offence."
