Norwich's Holt set to join Wigan

Norwich City striker Grant Holt is believed to be close to joining Wigan Athletic.

BBC Cumbria reports that the 32-year old will have a medical with the relegated Latics after a fee of £2million was agreed between the clubs.

The Canaries have already signed Dutch striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel from Sporting Lisbon and with manager Chris Hughton looking to strengthen his attack further, Holt sees it as the right time to depart Carrow Road.

The former Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday man has a contract with Norwich until the summer of 2015 but it looks as though he will be continuing his career at the DW Stadium.
