Wes Hoolahan missed a first half penalty for Norwich in the scoreless draw away to Championship leaders QPR. Rangers had yet to concede a league goal at home this season and it was their record which held out.
"I've spoken to Wes, but that kid's been unplayable at times," said Canaries boss Paul Lambert.
"His performances for me have been top class and he's scored his two previous penalties. He'll bounce back. I won't have a problem with him taking the next one if he wants to."
Rangers saw their lead cut to four points and City stay in third.
"I thought we were excellent, and we were unlucky not to win," added Lambert.
"QPR are a really good side and you can see why they are up there but we came here to win, we never sat back.
"If I could predict who will be up there at the end of the season I'd do the lottery. I really don't know."
