Norwich No1 Ruddy: Plenty of English keeper talent

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy insists England aren't short of keeper talent.

Ruddy and Manchester City's Joe Hart were England's only representatives between the posts across the 10 top-flight games on the weekend.

He said: "I don't think there's ever really been a shortage of England keepers if you've looked deep enough. A lot of people just look at the Premier League and the bigger clubs there and say, "Oh there's no England goalkeepers". But that's not the case at all.

"There are a lot of good goalkeepers around, like Jack Butland is proving in the Championship with Birmingham and Jason Steele is doing well at Middlesbrough as well.

"There are top keepers in there, so obviously I'm delighted to be recognised and in the squads the last few games."
