Norwich manager Farke devises cheeky plan to scupper Liverpool, Tottenham pursuit of Maddison

Norwich City's manager Daniel Farke jokingly said that he has come up with a way to ensure that his star striker remains at the club past the January transfer window.

James Maddison, a key player for Norwich, is being linked to several top clubs in England in the transfer window. The likes of Liverpool and Tottenham are being mentioned.

However, his manager believes that he has found a cheeky way to ensure that Maddison is at the club come February 1.

"I was thinking of giving him several days off and meeting at the end of next week but we have to work further on," Farke said.

"We need him the next few days. We know there are a lot of rumours, ideas and interest in the transfer window.

"This has been a busy window but I am looking forward to four quiet days between now and the deadline."

Farke also spoke about the quality of the goal scored by Maddison in Norwich's most recent game.

"James had an outstanding strike. It is a sign of his quality but I am a bit sad we are not able to use one more of our chances in the first half," he said.
