Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy admits England talk has him excited.
Ruddy, Tim Howard's former back-up at Everton, has been a revelation since Norwich snapped him up for a cut-price £250,000 just over two years ago.
Fabio Capello's goalkeeping scout Ray Clemence has already watched him a couple of times this season.
He said: "It's everybody's ambition to play for their country.
"I'm not expecting a call-up but I know I have been watched and if I keep playing well that can only improve my chances.
"Our midfielder Bradley Johnson was named recently in England's provisional squad of 30 so it proves they are looking at Norwich.
"I don't think I'll get any stick from the Kop - they probably won't even remember I used to play for Everton!"
