Norwich deny Delia wants out

Norwich have dismissed speculation suggesting Delia Smith could sell her stake in the club.

Smith is the majority shareholder at Carrow Road but there have been rumours that she intends to sell following the departure of manager Peter Grant.

These reports have been rubbished by chief executive Neil Doncaster, however, who insists Smith is still committed to the Championship club.

"I have seen the speculation in the press and I have no reason to believe there's anything in those reports," said Doncaster.

"Delia has external commitments with her filming and book but I have no reason to believe this is a long-term strategic decision at all.

"I believe she will remain as committed to the football club as she has been over the past 10 years."

Norwich's defeat to Queens Park Rangers on Monday left the club just two points off the bottom of the Championship table.
