Norwich City have confirmed that Ricky van Wolfswinkel has departed the club.
The 26-year old Dutch striker has joined French club Saint-Etienne on a season-long loan following the Canaries' relegation to the Championship.
van Wolfswinkel initially joined Norwich from Sporting Lisbon for £8.5million last summer but managed just one goal in 27 outings for the Carrow Road outfit.
"I can't speak highly enough about how professional Ricky has been even though he had a difficult first season at the club," Norwich boss Neil Adams told the club's official website.
"His attitude has been first class, and this move represents an opportunity for him to play regularly and get back to scoring goals in the way he has done in the past. We wish him the best of luck."
