English League One club Norwich City are believed to be close to signing Millwall defender Zak Whitbread.
The 25-year old Houston native's Millwall contract expires at the end of the current English season and the Lions are ready to sell him now rather than risk losing him for nothing in six months time.
Whitbread, a former Liverpool youth player, has been sidelined with a hip injury recently but the Canaries are reportedly ready to agree terms to sign him.
He has also been linked with Championship club Peterborough United and Norwich's League One rivals Leeds United and Huddersfield Town.
