There were claims Norwich failed in a bid to sign the Belgian 25-year-old KAA Gent striker, who served three years of an eight-year sentence for the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in Brussells.

But when quizzed by a fan about the report, McNally responded: “We did not make any bid for this player in January.”
