Norwich boss Lambert upset with manner of Cup defeat

Norwich City boss Paul Lambert was disappointed with the manner of their 4-0 Carling Cup defeat to MK Dons.

Lambert offered no excuses as he reflected on his heaviest defeat since taking charge at Carrow Road a little over two years ago.

"It was very disappointing," he said. "Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. We just never got going and you have got to give credit to MK Dons who deserved to win the game.

"We win as a team and we lose as a team. I don't want to focus on any particular area. We put out a strong team tonight but we didn't play well and were beaten by the better side on the night.

"I have not had many experiences like this since I have been here - but they say you learn more from your defeats than you do from your wins and hopefully that will be the case.

"I picked the team and I take full responsibility for tonight. When something like this happens it is my fault."
