Norwich City boss Chris Hughton believes Steve Harper will play on when he leaves Newcastle United at the end of this season.

Hughton - who is backing him to make a success of his post-playing career - thinks he may go on.

"I don't know what the future holds for Steve, but what he does have is the capabilities and the knowledge that if he wanted to stay in the game he could do," the Norwich boss said.

"He might chose to do that in his own category. He might decide to stay as a goalkeeper coach because he has great experience in that field and he's just got a great manner about him.

"People take to Steve and he's a very bright lad. I think that he's one that if he decided to become a manager, he'd take to it very well. Players would want to play for him."
