Ricky van Wolfswinkel's return to Sporting Lisbon is on the verge of completion.

The Dutch striker is set to leave Norwich City after the Premier League returnees agreed a fee with his former club Sporting.

Van Wolfswinkel, 26, joined the Canaries for £8.5million in 2013 but struggled to impress at Carrow Road and was subsequently sent to France's Saint-Etienne for a season-long loan last term.

Reports in Portugal suggest that Norwich are prepared to offload van Wolfswinkel for £3.8m to allow him back to the Estadio Jose Alvalade where he enjoyed a prolific two seasons after joining from FC Utrecht in 2011.
