Hull City boss Phil Brown has revealed how a Norwegian fan kept him grounded during the sack talk rumours before the international break.
The letter-writer pointed out Hull's overall position in their history in the league - which was unimpressive - and showed how far the club has come in recent years.
Hull manager Brown said: "Strangely enough, I got a statistic from a serial writer to me - a supporter from Norway. He wrote to me a few weeks back requesting some semblance of sanity from the supporters with regards to our history. Apparently, we are currently on aggregate in 56th position out of 92 league clubs on our history.
"That doesn't put us in the Championship, it puts us in League One. With that in mind, it brought a little bit of reality to me. Whether people need to look at that or not doesn't matter to me. What I need to look at is the league table at the end of the season and getting a third crack at this Premier League."
