Martin Odegaard could make history if Norway give him a competitive debut in Friday night.
The Stromsgodset midfielder is a chance to play for Per-Mathias Hogmo's side in the Euro2016 qualifier against Malta at the Ta'Qali Stadium and if he does, will be setting a record as the youngest player to play in European Championship qualifying for his country.
Odegaard, who is a target for Manchester United and Liverpool, admits it is a thrill to be part of the Norwegian senior squad for whom he made his debut in a scoreless draw with the UAE in an August friendly.
"It feels really good to be part of a European Championship qualifying squad," he told Aftenposten.
"I do not know if I will start. But I have been brought out here because they feel I'm ready to play. Of course I want to play as much as possible but I will not stress about it."
