Northern Ireland coach O'Neill delighted with victory over Faroe Islands

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill was delighted with their 2-0 win over Euro2016 qualifying opponents Faroe Islands.

Goals from West Bromwich Albion defender Gareth McAuley and Kyle Lafferty secured the points.

"We've played away from home for a year and this was our first chance to get back home," O'Neill said on Sky Sports 5.

"We've done a lot of work on attacking play this week and the emphasis was on high intensity, pressing, moving the ball quickly. There's a new pitch here at Windsor Park and the players enjoyed training on it and playing on it.

"Two didn't do us justice at half-time given the quality of our play. We've seen the work we did in the week replicated on the pitch."
