League Two Northampton Town have agreed a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with the University of Northampton, reports SportsPro. The Cobblers will wear the university's logo on the front of its shirts from next season until the end of 2015/16. The university will also support the club's community projects around Northampton.
According to the Northampton Chronicle, the sponsorship will be worth more than the club's previous three-year deal with estate agents Jackson Grundy, which it valued at over £300,000.
Northampton Town chairman David Cardoza said: "This is a partnership that will see us offer unique and exclusive opportunities to students in the world of professional football and supporting areas, this will give students at the?University of Northampton a real competitive edge over other candidates."
University of Northampton vice chancellor Nick Petford added: "Northampton has a rich heritage of sport and the local, regional, national and international coverage Northampton Town Football Club receive is the perfect way for us to promote the university both locally and further afield. The club offers us a unique opportunity in the world of professional football that will be of great value for our students."
