Everton striker Boris Mathis has had his loan cut short with Northampton Town.
Cobblers caretaker boss Dean Austin took aim at Mathis after sending him back to Goodison Park.
"I made the decision about Boris," said Austin following a 4-0 home defeat by Charlton in which Mathis came on for the final 22 minutes.
"You have to make decisions as a manager that you think are going to help the group. I need people around who want to play for this football club, players that will give their heart and soul and every last drop of sweat and blood for this team and do what they've got to do to get the results we strive for."
