North Queensland's Stefanutto hoping for another Socceroos chance

North Queensland Fury full-back Shane Stefanutto hopes he gets a chance to make up for his error in last weekend's international friendly for Australia.

The former FC Lyn Oslo man blames himself for South Korea's opening goal in the Socceroos 3-1 loss in Seoul last Saturday and wants the opportunity to prove himself on the international stage ahead of next year's World Cup.

"It was another big opportunity for me and I'm disappointed with how it went," he said.

"My mistake led to the first goal. In hindsight I should have let the ball go out.

"Sometimes in the A-League or in some European leagues you might get away with that mistake, but at international level you don't get away with those little mistakes. We were punished for it.

"I can't wait to play for the Socceroos again if I get another chance."
