North Queensland Fury coach Ian Ferguson has revealed that owner/chairman has a very realistic goal for the club's inaugural season. Whilst rival franchise Gold Coast United's owner Clive Palmer is intent on taking out the title in season one, the people at the Fury are thinking of more realistic goals.
"The chairman and the board are being very realistic - we're going to be four years behind everyone else - all the other teams are set up and it's very difficult for us being a new franchise to be successful from the first match," Ferguson told 442.
"I'm not saying it'll be doom and gloom, but we have to be realistic and hopefully we'll be competitive and make it hard for other teams when we take the park."
