North Queensland Fury targeting three wins on the trot

North Queensland Fury defender Mark Hughes believes it is a realistic goal to win all of their next three matches.

The Townsville-based club are currently sitting 10th in the 11-team A-League competition but find themselves just four points out of the top four and with positive results in their three matches next week, things can turn right around according to Hughes.

"We are second from bottom now but with two wins we can be back in third," Hughes told the Townsville Bulletin.

"This is a chance to put points on the board quickly.

"We are going in to win all nine points, it's achievable. Seven points at least is a realistic goal we should be setting ourselves."

The Fury's big week kicks off on Friday night against the Wellington Phoenix before they meet Sydney FC on Wednesday at the Sydney Football Stadium before another away clash next weekend at Central Coast Mariners.

But it is the fixture at Westpac Stadium, where the Phoenix have not lost in 22 A-League matches, that Hughes is most worried about at the moment.

"I don't know much about them (Wellington) but that record speaks for itself ... you don't have a record like that for nothing," Hughes added.

"But records are there to be beat, so I hope we go there and take it off them."
