North Queensland Fury are set to sign Togo international Eric Akoto according to reports.

The 29-year old is due to land in Townsville sometime today and will pen a deal with the A-League club.

Born in Ghana, Ekoto has had an extensive club career which has included stints in Europe and Africa whilst representing Togo 32 times along the way.

Ekoto kicked off his career in Ghana with Liberty Professionals in 1998 before moving to Austria to join Grazer AK and then onto Austria Vienna in 2002. He then moved on to Germany to join FC Rot-Weiss Erfurt in 2004 before returning to Austria with VfB Modling and back to Grazer for another spell in 2006.

The defender then tried his luck in Slovenia with Interblock Ljubljana in 2007 before yet another stint in Austria with Kapfenberger, then he signed with Israeli club Maccabi Ahi Nazareth and onto current club OFI Crete last year.
