North Queensland Fury are set to close a deal for Perth Glory winger Jimmy Downey.

Downey will move to the Fury in a straight swap for striker Danny McBreen.

McBreen has already agreed a pre-contract with Central Coast Mariners for next season and will pen a short-term deal with the Glory this week. He arrives as a direct replacement for Eugene Dadi, who left Perth last week for Wellington Phoenix.

Downey, meanwhile, is signing permanently with the Fury as coach Ian Ferguson seeks to add extra pace to his midfield.
