North Queensland Fury defeated Adelaide United 1-0 in both clubs final pre-season hit-out last night.

Played at Brolga Park in Townsville, the Fury edged in front when Adam Casey struck in the 70th minute with both sides playing fairly strong line-ups just a week out from the A-League season proper.

Reds keeper Eugene Galekovic returned to action and he did not miss a beat, saving a penalty from Fury recruit Gareth Edds.

A-League season 2010/11 week one sees Adelaide take on the Newcastle Jets at Hindmarsh Stadium on Friday August 6 whilst the Fury are away at Perth Glory on the same night.
