North Queensland Fury have clinched the signing of former Australia youth international star Fred Agius. His South Australian club Adelaide City had been demanding a hefty transfer fee before they would release the player, who played in Adelaide United's inaugural season.

But City has now accepted a much lower deal, one that will see Agius make Townsville his home from next season on a one-year deal.
