North Queensland FC will make a final push for 2009-2010 entry when they present their updated submission to Football Federation Australia (FFA) in Sydney on Wednesday.

It is understood FFA encouraged North Queensland FC and a rival group headed by Melbourne businesswoman Millissa Fischer-Massa to join forces.

NQFC co-ordinator Don Matheson admitted he had met with Fischer-Massa but said they would be submitting separate bids.

"Millissa has got her own style and her own model and it is different to ours," Matheson told AAP.

"We've had the pleasure of meeting her. We spoke about what we both want out of this.

"And effectively the way we would run our business would be different to the way she runs hers.

"We have agreed to move on. It's as simple as that."

NQFC rose from the ashes of the Northern Thunder which held a provisional A-League licence before it was torn apart by major backer Fischer-Massa's decision to leave and start her own bid.

Matheson said there was no animosity in their meeting with Fischer-Massa.

"There was no angst. There were just two different mind sets and sometimes that makes it impossible to move forward," he said.

Matheson was now concentrating on the NQFC's A-League bid, saying he would show their "best hand" to FFA chief executive Ben Buckley on Wednesday.
