Wellington Phoenix new boy Jade North is excited about his first game with the club.
The 28-year old defender is expected to start in tonight's clash with Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park and admits he is looking forward to again teaming up with former Newcastle Jets teammate Andrew Durante.
"Obviously Dura's an experienced player, he's a leader of the team and they had a fantastic year last year," he told The Dominion Post.
"It'll be good to play with him again but there's a lot of good boys in the team, they're a bunch of great lads, so I think that's what got them into the finals last year. I can't see why we can't do it again this year."
North has joined the Phoenix on a one-year deal from Norwegian club Tromso IL and admitted he is intent on taking the opportunity with both hands.
"You never know what's around the corner. Football, you just never know where it takes you so we'll just wait and see. I just want to concentrate on playing well here, get myself fit and see where it takes me after that," he added.
