Nolito has backed teammate David Silva to play a crucial role for Manchester City during the upcoming campaign.

Silva has been considered one of the best playmakers in the Premier League for quite a while now but the Spaniard did not enjoy the best of campaigns last term, mainly due to persistent injury problems.

Silva will now be hopeful of playing a bigger role for City during the upcoming campaign under new boss Pep Guardiola and new teammate Nolito has backed the 30-year-old to rediscover his best form.

The attacker said: "I think he (Silva) is great player.

"We all get injured at times. Next year he will be an instrumental part of the team."
