Nolan: West Ham Premier League stability our goal

West Ham United captain Kevin Nolan feels stability should be their goal this season.

The Hammers finished tenth last season upon their Premier League return.

Nolan told the Evening Standard: "If we could replicate last season and finish 10th again, I believe that would be a good season for us. We targeted 10th spot as the ultimate and we achieved it, which was great, but we could have finished even higher had we picked up a few more away points. I also thought we were on the rough end of some decisions. I know they always say it evens itself out but I didn't think so. We're aiming at the top 10 again but the second season is never easy.

"It's about building something long term, ensuring the gaffer has the resources to continue to add quality so that we can keep improving season upon season and especially when we move to the Olympic Stadium. Given time, I believe we can start pushing for a European place, look towards breaking into the top six and maybe winning a trophy."
