Nolan: Keeping Bolton up would be greatest achievement

Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Nolan says beating the drop this season would be his greatest achievement in the game.

"This season we lost a manager, sold our top scorer, saw our goalkeeper ruled out and today we were without our centre forward," said Nolan. "So I'd say that if we avoid the drop, it would be the biggest of the lot.

"It's got to be because when Sam Allardyce went we didn't just lose him, but we were losing the foundation he had built and everything he was aiming for.

"You then have another manager with different ways and obviously it didn't work out with Sammy Lee and the board decided to change again.

"Gary has come in and implemented his own methods. It's difficult for the players and staff to get everything right."
