Noble salutes West Ham teammate Bridge

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has heaped praise on teammate Wayne Bridge for his showing in Saturday's scoreless draw with Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

The Manchester City loanee was brilliant in defence for the Hammers, quelling the influence of the likes of Aaron Lennon and Gareth Bale as the East Londoners held on for a point with a resilient performance.

Noble said the recent performances of the 30-year old should have him back in the England setup in no time.

"The last month or so he has been fantastic for us," Noble told the London Evening Standard.

"It is a credit to him that Aaron Lennon had to change wings with Gareth Bale because he wasn't getting any joy.

"He's international quality and I am sure that if Bridge keeps playing the way he is, then Fabio Capello will be on the phone to him.

"You need a little bit of luck and I think we got that against Spurs. That wasn't the case at the beginning of the season.

"If we'd started the season as we are finishing it, then we wouldn't be in the position that we now find ourselves in."
