Omar Salgado made his MLS debut for Vancouver Whitecaps on the weekend and his family was out in full force.
The 2011 MLS SuperDraft number one selection came on in the 83rd minute of the Whitecaps' 3-1 loss to Houston Dynamo in his home state of Texas.
Salgado's father, Edurado, made the 10-hour drive from El Paso to Houston to watch his teenage son in action when he replaced Camilo Sanvezzo with just over six minutes remaining.
Eduardo led a small family contingent and was excited to see Omar make his professional football bow. Now more family members will travel to Vancouver for his next match at Empire Field against Chivas USA on Saturday.
