Jan Vertonghen insists there's no need for panic after Tottenham's defeat at Newcastle United.

The Belgian was the surprise omission from the team that lost 2-1 against Newcastle.

Vertonghen, speaking on his twitter site said, said: "Couldn't take the points home this weekend but showed great character. Looking forward to the first game at White Hart Lane!"
